Oral and dental examination

The examination covers the teeth, gums, jaw joint and any existing prostheses or fillings. Where necessary, X-rays are taken for further assessment.

Findings and treatment options are discussed with the patient, and the proposed treatment plan is explained together with possible alternatives.

Preventive care

Scaling, oral hygiene instruction and regular check-ups are the basic steps in preventing tooth and gum disease.

The interval between check-ups is set by the dentist according to each person's oral health.

Fixed prostheses: crowns and bridges

A crown is a restoration that fully covers a tooth with significant loss of structure. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by taking support from the neighbouring teeth.

The material is chosen by considering the position of the tooth, biting forces and aesthetic expectations together. The tooth and gums need to be healthy before treatment.

Removable prostheses

Where all or some of the teeth are missing, complete or partial dentures that the patient can remove and put back are prepared.

The adjustment period varies from person to person. Regular cleaning and periodic check-ups matter for the health of both the denture and the tissues of the mouth.

Implant-supported prostheses

Dental implants are artificial root systems placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. Fixed or removable prostheses can be made on top of them.

Before deciding on treatment, general health, bone structure and oral hygiene are assessed. Not every patient is suitable for implant treatment.

Aesthetic restorations

For concerns about the colour, shape or alignment of the teeth, options such as laminate veneers, ceramic crowns and composite restorations are considered.

Teeth whitening is planned after a suitability assessment during the examination. Any decay or gum problems are treated first.

Results of any surgical or interventional procedure may vary from person to person. We recommend getting detailed information from your dentist before treatment.
